Modern Dance Class Descriptions
Creators (Ages 3-4) (Ages 3-5) & (Ages 5-6):
In this class, your child will learn a fusion of Ballet, Jazz, Tumbling, and Creative Dance! Our “Creators” will perform once at our end of year recital!
Dress code: Pink Ballet shoe + any dance attire (leotards, tights, ballet skirts, leggings, shirt (anything easy to move in))
Tumbling/Conditioning for Dancers (Ages 7+)
No previous experience needed. Our Tumbling program focuses on the essentials needed for dance performance. Hollow body, handstands, bridge, & cartwheels will be the first skills mastered. Then we will move toward more advanced such as backbends, back walkovers, front walkovers, headstands, ariels and round offs.
Dress code: Bare feet + any tumbling attire (NO BAGGY CLOTHES)
Ballet (Ages 9+)
This class is for our Modern Dancers who want to learn ballet technique and perform in both our Winter & Spring Shows.
Ballet Technique (Ages 9+)
This class is for our Modern Dancers who want to learn ballet technique. It is a technique only class and will not participate in any performances.
Dress Code: Black Leo and Pink tights with Pink Ballet shoes, hair in a bun.
Contemporary Dance (Ages 9-12) & (Ages 12+)
This class is for dancers wanting to explore Contemporary dance technique and Choreography. Contemporary dance is an expressive art form which blends various genres including ballet, jazz, lyrical and modern.
Dress Code: Jazz or Ballet shoes, anything comfortable and easy to move in. No baggy clothing please.
Modern Dance (Ages 7-9) & (Ages 12+)
This class is for dancers wanting training in Modern technique, improvisation, and choreography. Modern dance emphasizes self-expression and freedom of movement. All movement is age-appropriate and uplifting.
Dress Code: Bare feet, anything comfortable and easy to move in. No baggy clothing please.
Jazz Dance (Ages 9-12) & (Ages 12+)
This class is for any dancers wanting to explore the foundations of Jazz technique. Jazz dance is an upbeat, high-energy, rhythmic genre. It’s just plain fun! All of our Jazz Choreography is wholesome and positive.
Dress Code: Jazz shoes and anything comfortable and easy to move in. No baggy clothing please.

Our Modern Companies include instruction in the following areas: ballet, jazz, and modern technique as well as improvisation and choreography. Modern dance emphasizes self-expression and freedom of movement while adhering to historically recognized techniques. All movement is age-appropriate and uplifting. Dancers will participate in both our Winter & Spring performances. Companies provide extra technique classes and performance opportunities.
Dress code: Bare feet. Leotard and shorts or skirt. Leggings and a form fitting shirt are also appropriate. Please, No baggy clothes
Ballet Class Descriptions
Ballet (Ages 3-4) (Ages 5-6) (Ages 7-8) (Ages 9-10)
Pre-K and Pre-ballet students will improve upon fine and gross motor movements. Creating new and fun pathways to approach technique should always be first and foremost of importance with this age. Games and fun nuances will be used to teach 1st-6th positions, beginning terminology, basic technical skills, and introducing a base knowledge surrounding classical ballet performances.
Dress Code: Black or Pink leotard and tights with Pink Ballet shoes, hair in a bun
Ballet (Ages 9+)
This class is for beginner or intermediate dancers who only want to attend class once a week. Dancers will perform in both our Winter & Spring Shows.
Ballet Technique (Ages 9+)
This class is for beginner or intermediate dancers who only want to attend class once a week. It is a technique only class and will not participate in any performances.
Dress Code: Black Leo and Pink tights with Pink Ballet shoes, hair in a bun.
Beginning Pointe (Ages 10-12)
Beg. Pointe ballet will be familiar with the classical class structure. Proper alignment and terminology will become second nature. Corrections will be taken and applied verbally although hands on approach will still apply. Technique from previous levels will be reviewed, expounded on, and new, technical skills will be introduced. Classical vocabulary should be used constantly now and dancers will be more familiar and fluent with definitions. Teachers are detail oriented and have a higher level of expectation on a consistent basis from the dancers.

Advanced Pointe (Ages 13+)
(Required to be in 2 Classes a week
Advance Pointe ballet will be familiar with the classical class structure. Proper alignment will be second nature and fluent in the terminology. Corrections will be taken and applied verbally although hands on approach will still apply. Technique from previous levels will be reviewed, expounded on, and new, technical skills will be introduced. Classical vocabulary should be used constantly now and definitions should come easily. Familiarity with pointework, articulation of the feet, and strong feet/ankles are mandatory at this level. Teachers are detail oriented, have a higher level of expectation on a consistent basis from the dancers, and are focused on artistry as well as technique.

Ballet Pointe Technique/Conditioning (Ages 10+)
Ballet Conditioning will be familiar with the classical class structure. Proper alignment will be second nature and fluent in the terminology. Corrections will be taken and applied verbally although hands on approach will still apply. Technique from previous levels will be reviewed, expounded on, and new, technical skills will be introduced. Classical vocabulary should be used constantly now and definitions should come easily. Familiarity with pointework, articulation of the feet, and strong feet/ankles are mandatory at this level. Teachers are detail oriented, have a higher level of expectation on a consistent basis from the dancers, and are focused on artistry as well as technique.
