Creators Descriptions

Ailey Company (7-9 yrs):

Ailey Company is a performing company for students looking for MORE!! In Moving Company, students will rehearse 2 hours (or more) a week and will travel locally as our “performance company”! Company members will study Ballet, Jazz, Modern/Contemporary Improvisation and Creative Dance. They will perform 3-5 times throughout the year in non-competitive performances. And they will learn the fundamental skills of choreography and get to work on creating their own movement! Company is a wonderful opportunity for dancers looking for the team atmosphere while being able to delve deeper into building their technical skills!!! These little’s will walk away with knowledge in dance history, dance anatomy, the elements of dance and so much more.

Dress Code: Solid color- Leggings, shorts  and a form fitting shirt, Leo, skirt. No baggy clothes. Bare feet.

Creators ages 5-6:

This class is for 5-6-year-olds! Our “Creator” classes are the bread and butter of our studio. In this class, your child will learn a fusion of Ballet, Jazz, Modern/Contemporary, and Creative Dance! This class is perfect for all movers and creators! Our “Creators” will perform once at our end of year recital!

(This class is 1 hour a week and is for our “Recreation” level dancer. If you are looking for MORE, check out our Moving Company Options)

Dress code: any form-fitting dance attire

Cunningham Company (Jr Company) ages 9-11:
* We encourage dancers to take Jazz and Creators. They are getting to the age were multiple days a week is best.

Cunningham Company is a performing company for students looking for MORE!! In Moving Company, students will rehearse 2.45 hours (or more) a week and will travel locally as our “performance company”! Company members will study Ballet, Jazz, Modern/Contemporary Improvisation and Creative Dance. They will perform 3-5 times throughout the year in non-competitive performances. And they will learn the fundamental skills of choreography and get to work on creating their own movement! Graham Company (Sr. Company) ages 12+:

* We encourage dancers to take Jazz, Creators and or another Ballet class. Dancers should be taking multiple classes a week to have optimal growth and improvement.

Graham Company is a performing company for students looking for MORE!! In Moving Company, students will rehearse 3 hours a week and will travel locally as our “performance company”! Company members will study Ballet, Jazz, Modern/Contemporary and Creative Dance + Tumbling. They will perform 3-5 times throughout the year in non-competitive performances. And they will learn the fundamental skills of choreography and get to work on creating their own movement! Company is a wonderful opportunity for dancers looking for the team atmosphere while being able to delve deeper into building their technical skills!!! They will also walk away with knowledge in dance history, dance anatomy, the elements of dance and so much more.

Pre Creators ages 3-5 :

This class is for our preschool dancers! Our “Creator” classes are the bread and butter of our studio. In this class, your child will learn a fusion of Ballet, Jazz, Tumbling, and Creative Dance! This class is perfect for all movers and creators! Our “Creators” will perform once at our end of year recital!

(This class is 45 minutes a week and is for our “Recreation” level dancer. If you are looking for MORE, check out our Moving Company Options)

Dress code: Pink Ballet shoe + any dance attire (leotards, tights, ballet skirts, leggings, shirt (anything easy to move in))

Tap (9+):

This class is an introduction to Tap Dance. In this class, we will focus on rhythm, movement, performance and music! If your child is looking for something new and fun, they will love this class!

Dress Code: Black tap shoes + Any dance attire

Tumbling Beginning (6-9):

No previous experience needed. Our Tumbling program focuses on the essentials needed for dance performance. Hollow body, handstands, bridge, & cartwheels will be the first skills mastered. Then we will move toward more advanced such as backbends, back walkovers, front walkovers, headstands, ariels and round offs. This class is for our Beginning Tumblers! 

Dress code: Bare feet + any tumbling attire (NO BAGGY CLOTHES)

Tumbling Intermediate (10+):

Experience needed, this class is for our Intermediate Tumblers! Our Tumbling program focuses on the essentials needed for dance performance. Tumblers must be proficient in the following skills to enter this level 2 class: Cartwheels, back walkovers, front walkover, and round off. We will be working toward back handsprings, ariels, back walkover variations, and other fun skills.

Dress code: Bare feet + any tumbling attire (NO BAGGY CLOTHES)

Twyla Company ages 5-7

Our Twyla Company is for dancers ages 5-7 who are looking for MORE! They will participate in a couple performances throughout the year and the Spring Recital! Their class will be an hour and a half and will include instruction in the following areas: ballet, jazz, modern improvisation and creative movement! They will learn multiple pieces and be a part of the choreography process. How cool is that?? These littles will walk away with knowledge in dance history, dance anatomy, the elements of dance and so much more.

Dress code: Leggings and a form fitting shirt, Leo, skirt. No baggy clothes bare feet.

Ballet Descriptions

Advanced Pointe ages 13+

(Required to be in 2 Classes a week. Register for this as well as Thursdays 7:15-8:45. Ballet Conditioning is highly recommended)

Advance Pointe ballet will be familiar with the classical class structure. Proper alignment will be second nature and fluent in the terminology. Corrections will be taken and applied verbally although hands on approach will still apply. Technique from previous levels will be reviewed, expounded on, and new, technical skills will be introduced. Classical vocabulary should be used constantly now and definitions should come easily. Familiarity with pointework, articulation of the feet, and strong feet/ankles are mandatory at this level. Teachers are detail oriented, have a higher level of expectation on a consistent basis from the dancers, and are focused on artistry as well as technique.

Dress Code: Black Leo and Pink tights with Pink Ballet shoes, hair in a bun.

Ballet Conditioning ages 9+

Ballet Conditioning will be familiar with the classical class structure. Proper alignment will be second nature and fluent in the terminology. Corrections will be taken and applied verbally although hands on approach will still apply. Technique from previous levels will be reviewed, expounded on, and new, technical skills will be introduced. Classical vocabulary should be used constantly now and definitions should come easily. Familiarity with pointework, articulation of the feet, and strong feet/ankles are mandatory at this level. Teachers are detail oriented, have a higher level of expectation on a consistent basis from the dancers, and are focused on artistry as well as technique.

Dress Code: Black Leo and pink tights, pink ballet, hair in a bun.

Beginning/Intermediate Ballet ages 9-10

Technique from previous levels will be reviewed, expounded on, and new, technical skills will be introduced. Classical vocabulary should be used constantly now and dancers will begin to learn the terminology and definitions. Teachers will start drawing attention to precise details of technical skills.

Beginning Pointe ages 10-11

(Required to be in 2 Classes a week- Register for this as well as Intro to Ballet Tuesdays 4:30-5:45 and Ballet Conditioning is highly recommended)

Beg. Pointe ballet will be familiar with the classical class structure. Proper alignment and terminology will become second nature. Corrections will be taken and applied verbally although hands on approach will still apply. Technique from previous levels will be reviewed, expounded on, and new, technical skills will be introduced. Classical vocabulary should be used constantly now and dancers will be more familiar and fluent with definitions. Teachers are detail oriented and have a higher level of expectation on a consistent basis from the dancers.

Intermediate Pointe ages 11-13

(Required to be in 2 Classes a week. If you have been on pointe for 1 year or less, register for Beginning Pointe Wednesday 5:45-7:15. If you have been on pointe for 1 year or more, register for Advance Pointe On Tuesdays 5:45-7:15, Ballet Conditioning is highly recommended)

Intermediate Pointe ballet will be familiar with the classical class structure. Proper alignment will be second nature and fluent in the terminology. Pre Ballet ages 3-5

Pre-K and Pre-ballet students will improve upon fine and gross motor movements. Creating new and fun pathways to approach technique should always be first and foremost of importance with this age. Games and fun nuances will be used to teach 1st-6th positions, beginning terminology, basic technical skills, and introducing a base knowledge surrounding classical ballet performances.
